MARCH 2019

Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County and Youth Haven were the seventh and eight charities in Barrie to receive Ripple of Kindness Donations in March of 2019
The Alzheimer Society will be using our donation to support their dementia counselling services including support in socializing and education for those living with dementia and their partners.  Dementia education for health care staff and public awareness regarding dementia.
Youth Have will be using our donation to reach out to more youth by providing care packages, food and clothing to those who cannot stay at the shelter because they only currently have 20 beds and are at capacity every day and night.
Thank you to our generous membership who contributed $25,600 to each charity.

C.M.H.A. Barrie and O.S.P.C.A. Barrie were the fifth and sixth charities in Barrie to receive Ripple of Kindness Donations in September of 2018.

C.M.H.A is in the midst of raising funds to revamp an existing building on Anne St. in Barrie for a Youth Mental Health and Wellness Centre.
Our donation will be dedicated to the kitchen of the centre, and when completed will be named the Ripple of Kindness Kitchen.

The Barrie OSPCA operates out of a building located in Barrie built in 1968.  It is in need of repairs and with our donation they were able to
to fix the central ventilation system and repaired the heating and air conditioning units.
The were also able to buy two brand new industrial washer and dryers helping to make the conditions of all the animals that go through that shelter a little more comfortable in their journey to their "furever" homes.

Thank you once again to our generous membership.  Both cheques have $23,000 written on them, but with our increasing membership we were able to donate $24,100 to each charity.

MARCH 2017
Hospice Simcoe was the recipient of our second "Donation" at our social in March 2017.
It was our first official vote where the membership nominated eligible charities in our community and voted as a collective where the donation would go.
We were thrilled to announce to Hospice Simcoe that they would be the recipient of $33,400 and presented to Lynda Murtha, Fundraising Developer and Samantha White, Fundraising Development Co-ordinator who are both Ripple Members, featured in this picture.
Kelly Hubbard, ED of Hospice Simcoe, and fellow Ripple member spoke to how our donation would benefit Hospice and with the money they were able to purchase food for the house that would feed the residents and their families for a year.  She explained that most people are surprised the first time they walk through the doors at Hospice how much it feels and smells like home.  One guest said it always smells like chocolate chip cookies.
We are THRILLED at how our donation are making an impactful different in our community.

Gilda's Club Simcoe Muskoka was our first "Donation" Social, as they were the inspiration for Ripple of Kindness.
Barbara and Mary-Anne had the intention of gathering a few of their friends together four times a year and donating to charities in the community.  What started out as an idea, has "rippled" into a movement that neither of them expected.  From the first meeting at Gilda's over coffee to the final count at the end of 2016, Gilda's Club received a total of $29,400 from the membership of A Ripple of Kindness.  The membership presented our donation to Kristen Dawson, CEO of Gilda's Club and she explained to our group how our donation would not only help with program but also keep the lights on for over a year.
"Gilda's Mission is to ensure that all people impacted by any cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.  Because no cancer care plan is complete without emotional and social support, our innovation programs of networking and support groups, education workshops and social activities are provided FREE of charge."

A HUGE thank you to everyone for supporting our Ripple of Kindness.
